DARK & DARING

The many snake heads of medusa character comes from Dark Lager's past identity as Darlo Dark, named after Darlinghurst, inspired by the history of the suburb, where brothel madam and gangster Tilly Devine plied her trade in the interwar years. The seven snakes on its head denote the 'Darlinghurst Seven', the Irish Brotherhood internees, accused of seeking Irish independence with aid from the British Empire's arch-enemy, Germany.

"TASTY" NOTES

Known as Schwarz Bier, one of the original and most popular in the range, this deliciously roasty malt lager is not overly bitter or too rich. Its refreshing hop qualities ensure that it is a dark beer for all seasons, not just winter. Brewed with Saaz hops, its smooth chocolatey dark side balances with a surprisingly light side. A beer to tempt more conservative pale ale drinkers out of their comfort zone into craftier drinking. It's dark side is approachable and unorthodox.
