Sydney Brewery ‘sculptures’ commemorative brew to celebrate 30th anniversary of Sydney’s Sculpture by the Sea

One of Sydney’s most iconic cultural and community events – Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi – will have the perfect drop to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Leading Sydney community craft brewer, Sydney Brewery – which has partnered with Sculpture by the Sea for the past decade – has created a special brew to toast the 30th anniversary.

The Sculpture by the Sea Bondi Lager has been brewed to capture the freshness of Sydney’s coastal lifestyle and is an easy-drinking lager with subtle hop character and a smooth, clean finish. 

Sculpture by the Sea is the world's largest free public outdoor sculpture exhibition, featuring over 100 temporary sculptures by Australian and international artists, installed along the 2km coastal walk between Bondi Beach and Tamarama Beach in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

The Exhibition runs from 16 October to 2 November, and Sydney Brewery beers and ciders will be showcased at all official Sculpture by the Sea events.

This is not the first time that Sydney Brewery has celebrated its eastern seaboard DNA. In the early days it produced popular brews like the ‘Glamarama’ Summer Ale and Blue Swimmer Summer Ale, with the craft brews designed to connect with Sydney’s unique character and environment.

Sydney Brewery owner Dr Jerry Schwartz said that, with Sydney Brewery’s long connection to the eastern suburbs community, the specially crafted Bondi Lager was the perfect way to commemorate both Sculpture by the Sea’s 30th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the Sydney Brewery partnership.

“Ever since we produced our first brews back in 2005, we’ve adopted Sydney-centric suburb puns and local alliterations for our craft beers and ciders – it’s all about capturing Sydney’s remarkably fresh and fun lifestyle,” he said.
